Volunteers Packing Food

Outreach

True Vine Garden - Larry Moore

Larry, seeing the unused green space behind our church building and thinking about the needs of the Food Pantry, set to work on what was to become the True Vine Garden.  Since 2012 over 10,000 lbs of produce have been harvested and distributed to those in need mostly through the Food Pantrys of COTC and Epiphany Lutheran.

Food Pantry - Christy and Dick Zaborowski

Working in conjunction with the SeaGate Food Bank of Northwest Ohio, we open our food pantry to those in need every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month.  Besides meeting the physical needs of many families, we use this as an opportunity to make friends with members of our community.

Ugly Quilts - Dolly Ryan, Keith and Kathy Lewis

Although she didn’t know how to sew and has arthritis in her hands, after reading about The Sleeping Bag Project and with encouragement from her small group, Dolly began the Ugly Quilts outreach in 2004.  They meet on the 3rd Saturday of each month to sew one or two quilts which are delivered to the Toledo Gospel Rescue Mission.

Toledo International Hospitality Program (TIHP) - Don and Betsy White

TIHP is a University of Toledo outreach program, begun in 1999 by Don White when he found out a few international students from Thailand were interested in engaging with Americans.  This program continues matching American families and internationals who meet about once a month to share cultures.  Some of these relationships have lasted a lifetime.

Operation Christmas Child (OCC) - Jon and Judy Strole

Since 1993 more than 198 million boys and girls in over 170 countries have experienced God’s love through the power of simple shoebox gifts from OCC.”  COTC has participated for the last two decades and provided volunteers at the Boone, North Carolina processing center where the boxes are inspected and completed for shipment overseas.

Hands of Tabitha - Agneta Seeley and Nancy Krody

This outreach started by Agneta and Nancy is all about making crafts to benefit those in need.  They have made and distributed a multitude of love-filled gifts not only for our church family, but internationally to fill our Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes.  They meet on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of every month at 10AM in the KidZone.
